Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attending King Charles III's Coronation remains to be seen because there's still 'a lot of water to run under that bridge', a former Kensington Palace press secretary has said.
Dr Ed Perkins told Good Morning Britain today that it is unclear whether the Duke, 38, and Duchess of Sussex, 41, will be invited or able to travel from California to attend the occasion on May 6.
The former royal aide, who was deputy press secretary to the Queen and then press secretary to Princes William and Harry, said: 'The idea that anyone at this stage understands whether Harry and Meghan will attend, I would take with a great pinch of salt.
'There are months still to go, a lot of water to run under that bridge yet. Opportunities may yet arise. We'll have to see.'
King Charles' Coronation will take place on Saturday May 6 next year - the fourth birthday of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's son Archie. The Queen Consort will be crowned alongside the monarch in Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace said.

The new monarch will be officially crowned in what is expected to be a scaled-back version of the ancient ceremony lasting just one hour and conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury at Westminster Abbey.
